Captain Dan Schillinger
Coming from a large military family CAPTAIN DAN spent a lot his earlier years exploring the lakes, rivers, seashores wherever he lived spending much of his time with his younger siblings boating and fishing in the outdoors.
One year, as a young boy, he built and sailed a make-shift raft then successfully sailed it on nearby lake.
The only mistake Captain Dan made was using his mother's favorite bed sheet.
As years passed, Captain Dan honorably served in the Navy.
After the military Captain Dan continued to sail and play on the water when the opportunity presented itself. He tried several careers as a chef then management in the hospitality industry. Never fulfilling the deep desire to be back on the water.
Then one day Captain Dan met an older owner/ captain of a water sports business in Puerto Rico. He was hooked. Captain Dan helped the owner to build a new catamaran.
Captain Dan soon after walked into the office of the restaurant he was managing, tossing his keys on the desk, prompting resigning from his position.
Since then Captain Dan has logged in tens of thousands of nautical miles throughout the Caribbean, Florida, and eastern coast of United States.
He found his place in life.
You might hear him say from time to time. "I started sailing as a little boy with a diaper on, I hope to be sailing for a long time into my older years, probably wearing a diaper too !"
